They are tired. All that road travel from London and playing a lot of games on the road is fatiguing the team. They will gain their stride when they play at home.

What was their reward for winning the cup? A brutal schedule to start the season. Pure nonsense. It should have been obvious to have two eastern time zone teams play in London. The reasonong is money, something about the LAKings owner owns the London rink or something of the sort.
They say that for every hour of a time zone you change, you need one day to recover.
Then after coming back from London, they make them go on a 3 game road trip. Insane, a travesty actually.

The lag from their London games certainly isn't helping them. The return of Gigeure will provide a big boost. But mostly, it's just a matter of time. This is a good hockey club with experience and leadership in all the right places to pull them through.

I think anaheim is a good team this year but losing Selanne and Niedmayer (at this moment they have lost them) will definitely hurt them. Although there is rumors that Selanne and Niedmayer are holding out until playoff time.

Definitely. There are a lot of things that are contributing to their problems right now. Once they get rested, get their legs back under the, and some of their players come back they will be one of the best in the league.

I think they will. They're missing two of their best players so it's definitely a transition without them. They'll find their stride.
