I think they feel justified because they interpret things the way they want to and don't look at issues from an others eyes. I don't think it has anything to do with up bringing. Some people just don't want to share with people they don't feel are their equals or better. When given the opportunity to attack those they feel are below them, they will, but only when they feel that others are behind them.
I am sorry to hear you have had to witness the pain of this type of behavior. The pain is great and no one should have to be subjected to it. I know the pain and wouldn't wish it on any one else not even the one who caused it.

Wow, what great questions and you're not the first person to wonder about this. Most research shows that unfortunately the hurter doesn't even realize they have done some damage to the hurtee. Upbringing is numero uno on how a person treats people he/she associates with. Some people do suffer mental disorders and no amount of great upbringing is going to over come all. As for a lack of conscience, a persons compassion starts with the first loving touch their mom & dad give them. Why do people intentionally hurt others?...They have no heart because they do not know love. Incidently, God is Love.

Usually I think people do bad things to others as a result of a bad upbringing. Only a very rare few are truly born without a conscience. They're called sociopaths or psychopaths.

It really has to be improper upbringing. If you look at a child they are so innocent and so honest. But look at that child a couple years later and if they have crappy parents you could get a crappy kid. But there comes a certain point in a young adult life were they need to forget what awful things may have happened to them and be there own person.
On a side note I think not enough mothers/fathers bring there young boys up to treat ladies with respect.

They have issues of themselves that needs serious addressing. Instead of them taking out on themselves they take it out on other people.
