Can non-theater majors have decent roles in College theater productions?

I'm a high school senior this year, and I'm a relative newcomer to the stage, but for the past year or two it's been one of my favorite extra-curricular activities at school. I have no interest in pursuing a career or anything, but I have a lot of fun and I was hoping to continue in college. Are there typically open parts in productions for students like me? (And, if there are, are they typically...well attended?) Most of the schools I'm looking at are smaller liberal arts schools like Middlebury, Swarthmore, Kenyon, Wooster, etc. not large universities, if that makes a difference...

if you are a competent and reliable actor any theatre group will be happy to have you, especially small liberal arts ones.
