It has to do with child support payments. Child support has stopped due to the child being adopted, but now i am being ordered to pay back child support payments each month starting next month.
But, what does this part mean:
"Respondent is in contempt of court. The court will withhold sentencing on the contempt of court for a period of twelve months in order to give Respondent an opportunity to purge this contempt by making all payments as set forth herein. Should Respondent fail to purge his contempt of this court and fail to comply with any terms of this order, the court shall, wihtout requiring future notice, issue a warrant for the Respondent's arrest upon filling of an appropriate affidavit of non-compliance on behalf of Petitioner. Respondant shall thereafter be incarcerated in Jail until the court addresses Petitioner's comptemp charge and any other contempt charges that may then be pending."
In simple terms, what exactly does this mean?
Thanks for your time

Uh...oh. It means you have been naughty and did not do what the judge told you. He probably issued a court order to pay a certain amount of child support. You did not do it, the custodial parent or the attorney general's office (if they were who you were supposed to pay on behalf of the child), filed notice of non-payment with the court. The court is now using it's contempt powers to get you to comply with the order (pay or go to jail). Because you likely can't pay it all in one lump sum, they are giving you a year to comply. If they receive notice from whomever notified them the first time....you will have an arrest warrant issued and be hauled in front of the judge.
Don't go that route...pay!

When the person failed to or did not, or stopped paying child support, that person was in contempt of court, as the child support was court ordered. The court is postponing for 12 months, the contempt charge to give time to pay up all child support owed. (feel lucky they can put you in jail) . If the child support is not paid up, then the contempt charge will kick in and off you go to jail. So, you have two charges, failure to pay child support and contempt of court. Pay up, and the court will probably drop the contempt charge, otherwise, if the support is not paid, a warrant will be issued , and you will have no defense. Pay up now or go to jail.

1. Contempt of court means you failed to obey. The judge has ruled you failed to obey what you were told to do, which is pay child support.
2. The judge has decided not to sentence you on your contempt of court (failure to obey) charge for 12 months.
3. You have 12 months to pay the child support you owe.
4. If you do not pay your back child support in 12 months AND IF the child's birth mother files papers with the judge asking for the back child support, the judge will sign an order for you to be arrested.
5. If everything in number four happens, you will be arrested and held in jail until you are brought before the judge to answer why you did not pay your back child support.
6. Anything that occurs with regard to your case, including if the birth mother files papers asking for the child support and if a warrant is issued for your arrest, you will not be notified by the judge or the court. It will just happen, and this is the only notice you will get. This doesn't mean you can't contact the court about it.
I would call legal aid in your county and take this order to them and ask one of their attorneys to advise you. This is usually a free service. You can find legal aid in the phone book, or you can call the court and ask for the number.

Respondent = you.
contempt = defiance
purge = erase
affidavit = sworn statement
petitioner = person suing you
It basically means that the court has asked you to make payments and you failed to do make them, so they are giving you 12 months to make the payments and get the charges dismissed. If you fail to do so, they will arrest you and put you in jail.

Write down your reasons... like you want to eat healthier, you are trying not to support animal cruelty, et cetera. Make sure they are well-reasoned and insightful. Their making fun of you just says that they are closed-minded and immature about this. Don't call 'em on it, just say politely "This is something that is important to me, and I hope that you will support me in word if not in deed." When they say "can't", do they mean that they doubt you will be able to do it, or that they will actively prevent you from being a vegetarian? If it is the former, just prove them wrong... plan out your meals well, scout around for good deals on vegetarian foods (soy milk, faux meat, et cetera) that you buy with your own money -- I wouldn't suggest asking them to buy it for you -- and generally be responsible. If it is the latter, well I don't know how you would overcome that. Maybe you would have to ask a vegetarian you know to come over and explain things.

It seems like the court told you to pay something, you didn't, now you have a year to pay it or you will go to jail.

It means you need to pay all of your past-due child support within the next year. If you do not, you will be arrested.
Simple.
