They got it all: A great offense, a solid defense, and great goaltending. The only thing stopping them is Officiating and the bounce of the puck.

The coach!!!! Lemaire has them in a defensive mode & until they fall behind in a game, he lets the Wild open it up! You end up losing a lot of games that way! They have great players...Eric Belanger is a great addition but you have to be offensive first! You're right....it's the refs & more so, luck....hopefully, they'll be a true contender this season....time will tell!!!

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of hate here. Sure the Wild may not be the best team out there right now but I do think they are underrated. Besides a few players who have obvious talent, the team has a lot of players people just haven't watched enough. Their young players are becoming their best. Yes they are in a really tough conference but they were only two points from winning it last year and with the few additions they made in the off season, I don't see why the couldn't have as good a chance of winning the conference as Calgary, Vancouver, or Colorado.

the two 2023 or 2039. it's going to take an prolonged time for the gang to absolutely substitute over from its protective minded hockey to a minimum of a few thing which will artwork. are not getting me incorrect, i like protective styled hockey (i'm a Devils fan, in spite of everything), however the Wild don't have Martin Brodeur and until they draft the subsequent Brodeur, they are going to would desire to change varieties to alter right into a actual Cup contender.

Gaborik could be the most talented player in the NHL.....when he's healthy. Demitra's underrated, but him and Rolston alone won't be enough to bolster their weak offense enough when, not if, Gaborik goes down. Obviously not a lot of scoring depth on this team.

Coach is great. Defense is okay, thanks to the coaching.

Goalie is unproven. Not necessarily a bad thing considering every year an "unproven goalie" carries a team (Cam Ward, Jussi Markkanen). But to expect stellar play out of Backstrom might be expecting too much.

I'll give you three. Luongo and the Canucks, the Avalanche, and the Flames. The wild will have to beat down at least two of these tremendous teams to even make the playoffs. after that they are faced with one of the incredibly talented eastern conference teams to win the Cup.

in other words maybe next year.

I could give you 100, but that would be a waste of breath, cause you must be on drugs, great offense, WHERE? Solid Defense, WHERE?

I hate when people blame their losses on Officiating, and if you cant control a puck that bounces every so often, then your not a real NHL player.

I'll give you a bunch. Tough division. VERY WEAK up the middle (which is important) Mikka Koivu, Belanger, Walz and Dominic Moore is not exactly strong. Only an OK crop of defencemen especially when Kim Johnsson is your top guy.
They have holes galore. Great coach though.

Their defensive gameplay. This is supposed to be the "new" NHL. These guys are stuck in the late 90s.

Ask this during playoffs. It's the beginning of the season. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see them win (if the Stars can't), but we have a season to see how they'll do, and how their competition does.
