Please do set set curfew for young adults living at home. After 12 or 12:30 what is there to do. Kids drive around too late at night some get into drinking or worse. These problems can occur at any hour but ther is no good reason for young people to be out too late. They can gather at home and watch late movies and be safe. Too many things can happen the later they are out. And you are the parent they must respect your wishes as long as they live under your roof.
You set the time that you feel comfortable with. You are the boss.

Hmmm.....some parents never can let go.

Would you put a curfew on your wife or husband?

Just because the person is your child, they are still of majority age. If they are rude, disruptive, and disrespectful of the parents, you have the right to kick them out. If they can't live with you without a set of rules, they shouldn't be living with you at all.

I know parents' temptation to control offspring well beyond the age of majority is nearly too powerful to resist in this pathetic era we live in, but parents are only prolonging the irresponsibility and making the situation worse.

I think as long as your folks know you are safe, you are old enough to come in when you like. Just show them the courtesy of letting them know you're OK though because parents never stop worrying. And be considerate when you come in, don't wake the entire household.
