He meant I.R. Iran, I think. Islamic Republic.

1. I think Iran is much more diverse and advanced than we give them credit for being. They need to get rid of the Islamic control of their democracy and allow true elections if you ask me, but hey, it's their country and not mine. Besides, they have an emerging population that supports this view, a population that we are helping to silence with our hard-line stance and threats towards Iran, which is empowering a somewhat unpopular president and the Islamic establishment.

Any support of forces fighting our troops in Iraq needs to stop. Their nuclear program and stance towards Israel is somewhat understandable, but not necessarily justified.

2. Because.

3. A lot.

1. I am unsure what R.I Iran is.

2. This is the first time I have heard the term.

3. I don't receive Iran's news and I don't care to. I wouldn't shed a tear if Iran, Iraq and the rest of the middle east all killed each other.

1- Iran is ruled by a religous hierarchy, like Israel is, and like the U.S. WOULD BE if the Christian conservatives had their way. Religious governments are always bad.
2 - Because religious governments do not have to convince anyone that they are doing the right thing. All they have to do is point at "holy writings," and they oppress you if you oppose the dominant religion.
3 - U.S. and European commercial television and newspapers, Al Jazeera, once in a long while actual Iranian sources, and international socialist newspapers.

1. It is a country that is ruled by a crazy puppet leader controlled by the Muslim religious establishment.

2. Because their leader came to the US and basically espoused the views of radical islam and that establishment.

3. CNN and Fox News and the internet. Could get it from Iran and still have the same opinion.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see they are a threat.
