A wiki is a medium which can be edited by anyone with access to it, and provides an easy method for linking from one page to another. Wikis are typically collaborative websites, though there are now also single-user offline implementations.

There are three main groups of the "Wikipedia is unreliable" crowd that I've seen. 1: People who don't want Wikipedia to work. For example, authors of encyclopedias. It is in their best interest to spread the rumor that everything on Wikipedia is wrong. They don't believe it - they just spread it. 2: The ignorant. These people claim that since anyone can edit Wikipedia, it must be full of garbage. They themselves don't really know much about WIkipedia. They just assume they understand it and spread the rumor through ignorance. If they spent time learning how Wikipedia works, they would change their mind. 3: There are those who hate Wikipedia primarily because they have been unable to fill it with garbage. These people know that Wikipedia doesn't allow garbage because they were kept from adding garbage to it. They spread the rumor because they hate Wikipedia and they don't want anyone else to use it.

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia that is not allowed to be used in college because the sources provided there are not definite. It has alot of useful information but you cannot use the info for citing. Good Luck

Wiki is a piece of software on a server that allows users to contribute and change information freely.

The rest of the word means general knowledge.

You won't find it in a dictionary as I doubt it has been added to the English language yet. It's one of those modern put-together words like Brangolina or Tomkat.
