It is 195 miles from mid city to mid city per mapquest, it takes roughly 3 hours to drive, if roads are clear, but usually traffic slows you down going into Houston

From the main gate at Lackland AFB to to the intersection at I-10 and I-610 it is 211 miles. From the intersection of I-10/I-35 in San Antonio to the intersection of I-10/I-45 in Houston is about 207 miles. Houston is huge and now so is San Antonio you could add as much as 25 to 30 miles just coming from the far west side of San Antonio to the far east side of Houston

IF you are driving to Houston. Give yourself 4 hours. Traffic is awful. I have driven there many, many times. If you are flying, give yourself 1 hour for airport time and another 45 minutes for flight time and as long as you aren't picking up baggage, you can get out of the airport pretty quickly. If you have to get a rental car, it will take you another 30 minutes. So all together, 2 hours and 15 minutes. The total distance depends a great deal on exactly where you travel in Houston. Your beginning point and ending point. I would suggest still giving yourself 4 hours. It is roughly 190 miles, very rough.

Good luck on your trip.
