well what I mean is, I think I work better in an enviroment with a few people, to where I want to get to know students well and not only become a teacher.. but a role model for them in life.. where i want to become a impact...
I was considering counseling.. but idk..

so I was just wondering if there are specific teaching jobs out there that help out in small classrooms or with individuals..

subjects I'm interested to teach:

-English
-Art
-Christian Education

I'm not sure what age group either.. all I know is I want a career that interact with people..you know? if there are other careers out there that anyone can suggest then go for it~ please..

any suggestions??

Please and Thank you~ ! ^^

I agree that special education would give you smaller classes. I also think that if you taught at a smaller, Christian school you would have smaller classes. There are some schools where you teach across grade levels so you would have the students for more than one school year. Being a teacher is being a role model--that's a built-in requirement of teaching. You will definitely be impacting the future if you teach. This is true even with larger classes. I feel, though, you are probably right that your impact would be larger with the smaller classes.

It's exciting that you want to be a great role model and help build the future. Good luck to you!

I was a teacher within a Catholic Diocese. While I am not Catholic, I value the Christian based education. My classes were small, I was able to get to know my students.

When I moved into the public sector, my class size more than doubled in size. I did not build the relationships with the students because it just wasn't possible.

The pay is generally lower than public school (a lot lower in some areas), but there are other advantages.

I originally trained as a High School teacher but I was uncomfortable in that setting. I wanted to be a teacher not a policeman. These days I teach adult ESL and I like it a lot more. The pay is less but the job satisfaction is worth it.

Sounds like you should go into special education where you can work one-on-one with students or with them in small groups. You would really get to know your students, and you would be their role model! Special education runs the gamut nowadays, so you would work with students with all kinds of special needs from learning disabilities to emotional/ behavioral issues.

You could be a probation officer. You would be helping alot of kids and teenagers but one at a time. So you WOULD be with less people and at the same time you would be making an impact in their lives.
