I'm looking for a cheap mp3 player for my car. 1GB should be good because I don't want to keep burning new CDs every time a new song comes out and I won't be carrying it around with me so it's ok if it have a small capacity.

iPod Shuffle is probably sufficient.

Creative Zen Nano 1gb. Was 70$ a year ago, it takes AAA batteries so you don't have to remember to recharge it, and also AAA's are so damn tiny I keep about 5 "lost" around the house. Also if you're using it for the car, the batteries could last days and days by setting the MP3 player to a low volume [8/25] and cranking the stereo. I run oversized headphones at my job and kill a battery every couple of days... so 16 hours on ONE triple A battery at full volume is pretty sweet.

+1 over apple -- It has a screen!

Get a cheap mp3 player (aka non-Apple or Zune). SanDisk has a couple pretty cheap models (around $40). Then get a cheap FM transmitter which plugs into the audio jack on the mp3 player so you can tune in while driving.

You can find both an inexpensive mp3 player and FM transmitter at http://www.catabox.com. Both are generic brands and so are priced very well. The players sold there act as flash drives so transferring files back and forth is easy. Good luck!
