How can I create a clear or very light watermark for pictures that I want to post on the internet yet make sure that people don't pass it off as their own?

There is a free image viewers with a adding text functions.
For example FastStone Image Viewer:

But I use AiS Watermark Pictures Protector for adding more customized watermarks on my images:

Also you can add visible watermark by use Photoshop:

I am not trying to disillusion you, but unless you are a Professional, and do a ton of design stuff you are really wasting your time. There are literally 10's of millions of photo's out there with nothing and the watermark isn't as fool proof as you might think. It may be worth your while to see what it takes to prove and prosecute, I doubt you have the resources to take this much farther, over the use of a picture. This is done on a daily basis and if the huge corporations don't bother why would you, they have the resources.

There is also a product I have used in the past called Watermark Factory. There website is at:

Just checked the price and it runs 49 for personal and 149 for corporate license. It will do what you intend to use it for but as someone else said unless you REALLY need it why bother unless you are doing things like wedding or family photos and want to show examples on your website and dont want anyone to get free prints?

Thats about the only thing I would be concerned about...

photoshop has a program called digimark that creates watermarks

add a watermark. instead of asking us here, ask microsoft help. Other words press f1 in word
