Swim bladder issues and air are not actually related. Swim bladder is from infection or other internal issues, not swallowing air. Bettas swallowing air is no problem at all as they can simply eject it from their gills if it builds up. Don't worry, the bubbles won't harm it.

No it's totally fine! There shouldn't be anything in the oxygen which will hurt your fish. Bettas also have a labyrinth which allows them to "breathe" moist air, so this is perfectly normal and healthy.

no. eating the bubbles are OK for him. I once had a floating beta bowl that fell into my freshwater tank and he was an adult and lived for 3 years! and his fave thing was the bubble blower! that is a cute type of fish whats his name?

Bettas don't need much maintenance and need very little room to swim in even though I feel bad seeing them in those tiny cups at Petsmart. Yours is probably trying to eat the bubbles because it thinks it is a food pellet. I wouldn't worry about it. The fish that are really prone to swim bladder are goldfish and most fish need aereation to keep their tanks clean.

Try getting him a female they might breed. Maybe he's trying to build a nest or simply just bored or even having lots and lots of fun
