So I had a soccer game today and im pretty sure at some point my foot was stomped on or driven into the ground cause when i got home it hurt really bad. My big toe was throbbing so i got some icy hot and started to rub it in. I noticed a wierd lump in the tendon leading to my leg. (not sure what its called) So i started rubbing it wondering what it was. Then it poped to the right and i was in major pain. It hurts in my big toe joint all the was down the tendon that popped. I am icing it right now, but i dont know what else i can do. I cant go see a doctor, even though i think i should. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Ice will help reduce the swelling, but you probably ruptured a tendon - the extensor hallicus longus, and if you did, it will not heal properly without surgery. This is a difficult injury to treat even with surgery. You will probably have chronic pain if you don't see a doctor.

you should never ride by yourself just in case something does happen, i ride by my self alot but it is on the rode so there are houses a few feet away at all times. my family and i went to cheeha natioal park one weekend and a stupid man was trying to ride his horses down a walking trail well the horse sliped down the side of the hill and broke his leg, the horse was in so much pain. we did not know this man but after this happened he left his horse and walked to our camp which was 3/4 mile down the rode he told us what happend and said that he was leaving the horse cause he did not know what to do. my uncle had to put the horse down, we had to go home and trailor a tractor up there to be able to burry the horse. we did not ride that weekend we were all to upset that for one a horse died because of one mans stupidety and we had to be the ones to do something about it. im just letting you know to always use caution and common since, how did you not see a hole that your horses back legs could fit in.there are a number of things that could happen when you trail ride, i do not belive that you should travel that far away with no one with you. but things to have with you, ace bandage(or a bandana works too)-if he gets cut, always have a knife on you at all times ( can be used as a hoof pick since you are limited on capacity). just be carefull and think this through, listen to what every one here is saying.

You really need a xray but if you can`t, wrap it real good and see if you can borrow a walking boot and stay off of it for a week or so and see how that feels.

well , i hope you dont have a fracture or something. keeping ice on it the 1st 24 hrs. is right.

then switch to heat. & keep off it a while, give yourself time to heal ......

& it wouldnt hurt to get x-rays.
