I mean, you go to school, and all you think about is, I cant wait till highschool is over! Then when it ends, you hug your friends and cry. Then off to college,

ONLY 4 more years until we get out of college!! WOOT!!
Then when it ends, you start to think, I am getting old, I want to be back in highschool.

Then you get a job. I cant wait till I have enough money to retire. I totally hate work, it sucks. Then you retire, you look at pictures of old friends in your wrinkled pictures of you and your friends from highschool and college.

You wake up every day and cherrish every second of your remaining life.

Why does everyone want to rush through life?

Honestly, I think most teens have a negative outlook on life.(Don't worry I am one.) I think complaining is a part of our everyday conversation. Don't forget we still look forward too weekends and holidays. School can be boring and overwhelming so we want to move on. Hope I could help! I cant wait to see if I get best answer... Wait There is no rush.. Jk

I have no idea why people want to rush through life. I actually wish that the 18-25 years of age section of my life could be extended (and no, I haven't passed that section yet). No offense to the elderly but the idea of life past 50 sort of saddens me. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic but it seems as if there is not much to live for during that time. The 18-25 year old stage of life seems as if it will be the most enjoyable if you live life to the fullest.

It seems as if all of our life we're waiting for another part of it. And then before we know it it's over. I'm just now realizing this as I'm typing it, but I think that is part of what Christians call "the fall." After Adam and Eve brought forth the original sin, boredom (among other things) was introduced. And maybe that is why we as humans will never be satisfied.

This will be a starred question because I think people need to stop and think about this thoroughly. Seems as though we all tend to be a little on wait, wait, wait for this to happen side. I do cherish every second I live and still can't wait for paychecks each month. Maybe we are geared to that scenerio. But it is not the way to live. We must cherish every moment of our lives good or bad for too soon it ends.
Have a great weekend.

It would take a book to answer that, so I'll just give a little sub-heading: people who emphasize (or over-emphasize) something, usually lack, or fear to lack that very something. The control freak lacks control, the fat cat fears povery, etc. The proof of this is to outdo them in some way, stand up to them, and watch them melt. Knowledge is power...

the eternal belief that the grass is greener on the other side.

I miss school, it was the only place were they told you this is how long it is going to last, this is exactly how we will test you. this is when it will end.

idk, maybe cuz ppl think that when ur older u get to do more stuff and have more priveliges. But when u actually get older u want to get younger and want to get back to school and live your most embarassing day of your life all over again. I guess its just the circle of our lives
