From torture to wars of aggression to inflated no-bid contract to election fraud to the 9-11 conspiracy . . . and now this story breaks. There is some new corruption unfolding here on almost a daily basis. There is so much corruption in the U.S. that it is virtually impossible for any one person to keep up. Is any nation more corrupt than the U.S.

FBI offered me $4m: Lockerbie bomb witness
By MICHAEL HOWIE
HOME AFFAIRS CORRESPONDENT (mhowie@scotsman.com)
A WITNESS in the Lockerbie case has claimed he was offered $4 million (£2 million) by American investigators to lie to the trial judges.
Edwin Bollier, head of the Swiss company MEBO that was said to have manufactured the timer used to detonate the Pan Am bomb, claims he was offered the money by the FBI at its Washington HQ in exchange for making a statement that supported the main line of inquiry - that Libya was responsible for the bombing.

justagrandma is right about some African countries
but when you have all the weapons, and keep spending like $500 billion a year on crap to blow things up, do you really have to be the MOST corrupt
when you pass laws to help big business , and the drug companies and big oil have the most say in who wins
do you have to be MOST
well my answer is YES the US is

According to the Corruption Perception Index, the most corrupt nation is Somalia. The least is Denmark. USA is # 20 out of 180 (1 least corrupt, 180 most corrupt).
The index is based on surveys of each country's residents and experts from outside that country.

Sounds to me like you are a conspiracy theorist.
Every nation has some kind of fraud and corruption,
In most trials, the accused and their friends claim to be innocents. The USA is one of the few nations where they are given an opportunity to try to prove that in court.
The USA has the most free news media in the world.
Thus its news media is going to be pretty good at rooting out trouble in the USA.
However, until the trial is over, we never really know who is lying.
When there is a nation that you not hear much about bad stuff there, it is usually because.
* Their news media is not anything like as free as in the USA.
* In most other nations it is illegal to say anything bad about government leaders.
* The kind of fantasy garbage conspiracy theories, that people in the USA are free to promote, could land such people in the psycho wards, or get executed if they tried that stuff in most other nations.

Not by a long shot, just about all of African and Asia are Byzantine in their corruption.
Russia is so corrupt they can't even figure out which gangster group to payoff.
From one end to the other it seems that power corrupts and the men would lust after the power corrupt the easiest/

Actually, corruption is rampant throughout the world.
Mexico. Russia. Eastern Europe. Africa. China.
The US has had it in many places, from savings and loan scandals to self-dealing in the stock market to government contracting.
Regrettably, human nature is prone to this stuff.

First of all, that story is false.
Second, no it isn't the most corrupt, but it sure is close! India is the most corrupt IMHO.

If you believe that the U.S. is the most corrupt nation in the world, you are an idiot. The U.S. is the greatest of all nations.
