where can i get sheets, etc for the little mattress in the bassinett and what kind and how many should i get?

I did the same thing and my favorite sheet was the Clouds and Stars play yard sheet, which works like a pillowcase and velcros closed so baby can't get tangled in it. It's also a bit thicker than a flimsy sheet so the crinkliness of a pack-n-play mattress isn't so close to baby's skin.

My second choice was the quilted Graco sheet, which you can get at Babies R Us.

That pack n play looks different from the one my daughter had. But open it up, compare how it feels to how the bassinet feels. - I think it should be fine to sell the bassinet and keep the pack n play. My daughter's remained useful until she was 2 years old. I loved the changing table part! Even though she didn't use it so much as a "playpen", it was a useful place to put her diapers, diaper bag, blankets, and a few other useful items. For what the person said about portability ... That is true. The pack n play would be a pain to move from room to room. But I personally just stuck my daughter in the stroller when I wanted to lay her down in various rooms. I would recline it and stick a blanket at the foot end so her little legs wouldn't work their way out. It worked well.

We have a Graco Pack'n'Play and we got our sheets from Target. If that's what baby will be sleeping in primarily for the first while, I'd get 3-4 sheets at least. You never know when his/her diaper will leak and if it's in the middle of the night or even when you are just too tired to do laundry, you want to be sure you always have a back up. Just be sure baby is out of that before he/she can even sit up. Don't put it off when it comes to that either. You'll be shocked to find that one day he/she will be needing your support while sitting and all the sudden doing it on his/her own.

The pack'n'play we had with a bassinet used the main mattress bottom of the pack'n'play, but it is just folded into the bassinet. So all you should need is the regular sheets made for the pack-n-play.

You don't want to use loose blankets in the bassinet because it could become bundled up and block the babies airway if he should pull it on top of himself.

If it's the same sort of bassinet attachment our 5-year old Graco has, you aren't going to be able to get sheets in it. Just line it with receiving blankets (of which the average new parent has approximately 712 for some reason).

If you go to a web site like babies r us you can look up the pack n play sheets. They sell them online. I am sure you can probably find them in the store. I never used the sheets but I no you can buy them.

If there is a babies r us around, they have a good selection! They also have them at Target. I am going to get mine at Babies R Us though because they have the thick quilted ones and the regular ones. I will probably get some of both! We got our pack n play too. We got it at Baby Depot and it's all put together waiting for the baby!! =)

I never was able to find sheets for mine so while my baby was still sleeping in it, I just padded it w/ her baby blankets. Those matresses are super thin!

When I was registering, I could not find anything for bassinets or cradles. It seems everything is for cribs. Very frustrating! Good luck and best wishes!!

I have seen bassinet sheets at Babies r us . . but if you still can't find them, just use a receiving blanket!
