Is it "evil" for a guy to tear into a car, because he thinks he knows what is wrong with it, and through doing this, makes it a pile of "junk" when all he had to do is go and get a "book" and "read it" and figure out the problem, without tearing apart the rest of auto? Or, just ask a mechanic? Then fix it properly? Ignorance is "not Bliss",only in children...and this is "Negligence" When we know to do a right thing, and fail to do it for some reason or another..and go forth aimlessly in our lives, "leading others?" this is the worst thing i can think of...and the followers believe they are right and justified in doing this? Ignorance...you tell me, ..because "I don't know?"

In my faith (Islam), the first word revealed to the prophet was "Read". Learning is an obligation upon us, neglecting it is active evil. It is not passive, since we have a choice to reduce our ignorance every day and choose not to do it. It is not negligence of good either. Learning less that we can is negligence of good.

No, it is rather the opposite for ignorance is a destitute of education and knowledge. It is the negligence of good and that you become simple. Simplicity is deficiency of intelligence or good sense. It is simply called innocence and therefore being ignorant is not tainted with sin.
Thanks for an interesting question. Have a wonderful day!

I don't think it's evil, I think most people are just ignorant, maybe more passive, but not in the evil sense, unless it was intended to be evil, but for the most part, I don't think people really realize their ignorance.

No. I would, however consider those who purposely set out to insure that people remain ignorant in order to exert control over them to be evil. My car needs to be fixed. I am ignorant of auto mechanics knowledge. Perhaps my car thinks I am evil if I can't fix it. Maybe my car will feel better once I get it to someone less ignorant. Someone who is ignorant is not stupid, but he is uninformed, either because no one has seen fit to teach/ tell him, or because he has not taken the time to learn about something. We can't all know everything there is to know about everything, so we are all ignorant in one circumstance or another. Evil is purposeful, willful, knows what he is doing, and uses his knowledge to a malicious end.
Evil preys on ignorance, and uses it as a tool....

One can be ignorant without recognizing it, and I don't consider that evil - because to be evil implies that you know (and are not ignorant) the difference between wrong and right. So to be aware of a hurtful action and pretend to be ignorant - is evil.

Not evil just stupid.
Most of the world are followers not leaders. about 95% and also 80% are feelers not thinkers.
Now on this program it is different so that doesn't count.
If you want others to think for you and make decisions based on their idea's, then go ahead. Put your brain at the door of church, school, work etc.
You future is based on your choices now... go ahead make your day.

Ignorant of what? I choose to remain ignorant of the intricacies of nuclear physics, but this is clearly not an evil choice.

Ignorance itself is not evil. What is evil is when ignorance is used as an excuse to neglect what is proper. Therefore to be ignorant is not bliss..

Very. But the dominant ethno-linguistic group in both contries is the Pashtuns. The Brits divided their territory w/ the Afgan-Paki border they drew when they left, the Durand Line.
