by the courts, can the paperwork be re-done? I recently went over my boyfriends divorce paperwork after it was sent back to him. I found a mistake. There is a place in the paperwork where the petitioner and respondent are switched. There are currently other problems with the dispersion of joint financial obligations (which is why i read over it to try to help come up with a solution) Since the paperwork is incorrect is there a way to have it rescinded and then re-done correctly by a different attorney?

I should also mention that he didn't / doesn't have an attorney. He let hers take care of it.

Contact his lawyer. The lawyer should have had the mistakes corrected before he submitted the final decree to the judge for signature.

If both parties agree that the errors are actually errors, it should not be difficult for the ATTORNEYS to correct the problem. In most cases, one party will not acknowledge certain items are actually errors. If that is the case, your boyfriend my be stuck with those 'errors'. What kind of attorney files ANYTHING without reviewing it at least twice?
