My father wanted me to say this:
He has been out of school for over 30 years, and just started college. Never had a good teacher in HS. Wasn't able to learn anything. He's doing well in college algebra b/c he realized that all that is necessary is to learn the concepts of algebra. And practice, practice, practice. Once you learn the concepts, it's like following any other kinds of directions, because algebra is nothing but logic. He said if he could do it, anybody could do it.
P.S. Good Luck.

We can type "is greater than or equal to" as >=

So 4-6(x+2) >= 5x+25

Treat this just as you would an equation. The only extra rule is that if you multiply or divide through by a negative number, you must reverse the inequality.

So 4-6x-12 >= 5x+25
-8-6x >= 5x+25
-5x-6x >= 25+8
-11x >= 33
x <= -3 (note: divided by -11, so >= became <=)

4-6 (x+2) >= 5x +25

step 1 - multiply out brackets

4 - 6x - 12 >= 5x + 25

step 2 - gather like terms together

-6x - 8 >= 5x + 25

gather x's on one side and the rest on the other side

-25 -8 >= 5x + 6x

-33 >= 11x

=> x = -3

4-6(x+2) is greater than or equal to 5x+25
4 -6x -12 = - 6x -8 >= 5x + 25
-33 >= 11x

-3 >= x

x is less than or equal to -3

4 - 6(x + 2) >= 5x + 25
4 - 6x - 12 >= 5x + 25
- 6x - 5x >= 25 - 4 + 12
- 11x >= 33
x >= 33 / -11
x >= - 3
