Irregular periods when you first start are quite normal for some people. Now, once a month is perfectly normal since you have had it for several years. Did they not go over this in health class?

When you first start, your body is starting to get everything in order. It takes awhile to get things regulated. A woman's cycle is approximately 28 days so once a month is completely normal.

Sounds pretty normal. You may want to call your OB and set up an exam your getting to that age especially if you are sexually active.
