Cockroach. They don't serve any purpose on earth.

The crocodile, as so many innocent adults and children in villages have been attacked or eaten up, needlessly. It has the strongest bite among all animals and once in its grip, it's hard to escape. Definitely not an animal to be chosen as a pet.
How wonderful if your question asks about two animals instead of one, and i would include the Great White Shark. Together with the crocodile they should be classified as Man's worst enemies. When you have read the numerous fierce attacks by these two ferocious beasts, you will definitely agree with me. C'mon humans, we cannot remain unwise and simply love and preserve animals which pose a great threat, all for the sake of an eco-system as a slight adjustment will NOT destroy all life on Earth. Man, Earth's most intelligent creature must make a stand on certain issues requiring simple common sense.

if you believ in the theory of evolution then things like Panda's should be left to die out anyway. Cockroaches survive so they must be needed for some reason. If I to chose something to eliminate I would chose Pheasants. They are only bred to shoot and make a right effing mess when I drive into them. Totally surplus to requirements and pointless.

The human race has caused the extinction of enough wildlife, we don't need more encouragement.

To the people who spout "there is no purpose" regarding an animal or insect, try actually reading up on it. Everything has a purpose; it's not their fault if you're too bone-idle and ignorant to look it up.

haha almost half of the people are naming insects and not animals. Anyways I would eliminate whatever animal is in the way of us getting by the tree huggers who say we can't get all the oil in Alaska and other parts of America because theres nature and animals in the way.

i would eliminate mans so called best friend DOGS!. i really detest them stinking fuckin animals and i know i'll get about 20,000 thumbs down for saying my piece. no doubt some dog lover (sad bastard with no life) will report me for abuse. but before people get on their high horses let me say this, i was attacked and mauled by 2 dogs when i was four years old. and no! i didnt do anything to upset them. "yeah yeah i'm a responsible dog owner blah blah, i look after my dogs blah blah the kid must have upset the dogs to attack him" also i was chosen over a dog by a so-called loved one. "i'd sooner get rid of you before i got rid of my dogs" was the quote, and i'll carry that to the grave with me. so there you go, i would exterminate all domestic breeds of dog because i was mauled as a child and i was classed below that of a dog.

Insects aren't animals people!
Well I would probably eliminate skunks/raccoons because they don't have much of a purpose.
