Mike Comrie is a highly skilled player who comes with a lot of baggage.
He hates practicing
He has had issues in the past getting along with teammates (Edmonton and Philadelphia)
He has had issues in the past getting along with coaches
Through two games, he looks good............but Stanley Cups are won in June, not October.
Chicago lost once in their first 6 games last year............and missed the playoffs by 25 points.

Skill has never been an issue with this guy. The only reason he's been on so many teams is his attitude. Some of it is circumstance, a lot of it is Comrie.
Talent-wise, there is no question he's a 1st or 2nd line offensive center, particularly with the post-lockout rules. He'll likely be given every opportunity to claim the top spot as his on this Islander team.

So good that as a 27 year old he is on his 5th or 6th NHL team. Don't judge on 2 good games. He might be coming into his own and having a break-out season but I am not going to crown him yet. He can be an enigma.
A little early to say the Isles will be a good team too I think. I don't think they will be in the play-offs but they might.

Well, he is on pace to score 164 goals this year. He got off to a good start in Phoenix last year before getting injured. But the Islanders did lose 150+ goals and 300+ points to FA this year. I hope they can keep it up. As much as I love the Isles, they have to continue to kill penalities effectively, another line will have to step up and score to keep teams from locking down on the "free agent line" and D.P. needs another decent season, they will be in contention in a tough division this year.

He's a very good player that the islanders picked up however they were taking a risk because nobody was sure how he would play with new teammates in a new place. So far though, it seems that they made the right move

PuckDat: Yes, Comrie was in Philly. He had three decent games before turning into a pylon. Danny Markov came to the Flyers about the same time and completely out-played Comrie. Thus the joke at the time: Comrie was Chris Therien's Mini-Me.

he's definitely not bad. but with the losses of Blake, Kozlov, Poti, Hill, and to a lesser extent smyth and zednik I'd say they'll be seeing the playoffs from the sidelines.

It's never been a question of talent. He's just had a major attitude problem. I wonder if it was Guerin or Nolan that got into his head.
