I just got hired at a hotel, They said they need to check my background , they said it should take 5 days ,and if it comes back clean then I start work in a week. When it takes 5 days to come back, does that mean a full background check or just regular to see if I am a criminal? I have no criminal record but Iam worried about my credit and my education background, I kinda lied about where I go to college. And some of the company I worked for was a small company so I doubt they even will show up on file. The job doesnt require any degree , just really good customer service , Its a front desk hotel job. I made good impression on all 3 interviews so now Iam worried I wont get the job. Does anyone here know wat goes on ?? or does anyone here do the background check for your company. Should I be worried??? This is in NYC btw

Yes you should be worried if you lied on your application. If you are caught you could be charged with a fraud offence. And not to mention it's not exactly hard to find out where you go to college - a google search or a few enquiries would quickly reveal the truth.

You should think about why you lied - if the job doesn't require qualifications, just good customer service, and you impressed the interview panel - why does it matter where you study?

The type of background checks they do will vary based on the type of hotel and their internal policies. It may just be a quick reference check of any referees you listed to confirm previous employment details, education, character and abilities, or it could be a police check, a credit check etc.

You have to give permission for these checks to occur (ie; they cannot conduct a credit history or police check without your consent) so you should know the nature of the background checks.

I hope for your sake you're not caught - the consequences are extremely serious and if you get charged with any dishonesty offence you will have trouble finding employment for the rest of your life. I hope you learn your lesson and think things through a little more adequately in the future.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://tinyurl.im/aH3Vs

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

There is NO SUCH THING as a 'regular' or 'full' background check. The ONLY one that can tell you what is included in the background check the hotel does is whoever does the check for them. A credit check takes about 5 MINUTES. The criminal records check is the ONLY thing you mention that is likely to take more than an hour. If you lied about where you attended school, you can be fired FOR CAUSE whenever they CHOOSE to find out. They may overlook the lie until they wish to get rid of you and then use the lie to get out of paying unemployment.

Most background check services will check educational credentials. Otherwise, the job would just ask you to go and get a criminal background check from the local police department - that's what I've had to do for all of my jobs.

I wouldn't worry so much about the small company, especially if you have good references. The educational lies, however, might get you in a sticky situation.

An employment background check could include a criminal record check, verifying various information you put on your application (address, high school, college registration, prior experience), and possibly your credit history (to see if you have evidence of a gambling problem or are often over your head).

Even if you get the job, it will be in jeopardy every time the personnel files are reviewed, or if someone chances upon the false information and decides to re-check it.

The absolutely free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book or personal knowledge and they only want your email to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse phone lookup sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse phone lookup site like http://unlimitedchecks.net/everify-387.html that has been around since 1999.

If I recall correctly they have two options:

1. Get only one report.

2. Get unlimited reports. I went with this option because I wanted to verify more numbers. This is how I caught my girlfriend cheating, I got the name, other phone number, address history, relatives, and criminal-court records.

I just tried https://webmd.im/verispy last year to see if I could Locate my birth-father. My bio father left me when I was 7, and has refused to be a part of my life since. I grew up with my bio Mother and Step-father. I have only ever talked to my biological father a couple times until now. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his first name, last name, and the street address of a previous address he used to have.

When the search results came back based on the minimal info I had, It pulled up a recent address along with even a phone number. When I called the phone no., I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my biological dad) was there, and he said no but to try back after 5.

I haven't done anything with the info, But I found what I was wanting to have.

NEVER EVER LIE on an application or resume.

Employers can fire you for merely lying on it.

I've had an employer do a criminal, financial check before.
