Why would legislatures vote for such a BAD law? I can't imagine that bikers' groups have more political clout than the insurance industry. Who stands to gain, from this change; and why?

The government has NO business telling me, or anyone else, not to be and idiot. The only BAD law involved was the law requiring helmets. The insurance industry is NOT harmed. They can, and probably already have, adjusted their rates to compensate for any additional costs. Because most motorcyclist WON'T be involved in accidents, the insurers actually BENEFIT at the expense of the riders.

Because a lot of people believe that the government shouldn't try to control their lives. If they don't want to wear a helmet that's their business.
