to fasten a large strip of velcro to the vinyl trunk liner of my car? I have tried Gorilla glue and it does not hold long with the weight of the item fastened to the velcro.

Doesnt the velcro have it's own glue?

Vinyl doesn't glue very well. You may try roughing the spot where you want to glue and use contact cement--does great on counter tops.

Contact Cement. Give it some dry time. About 25 minutes. It will work.

If "Gorilla Glue" won't hold, try welding what ever it is to the roof.
