Im trying to explain this to someone, but i cant figure out the word for it.

When i was younger, my elbow kind of..popped out? Lol, so the joint wasnt in place anymore. Know what it;s called? :)

Likely a nursemaid's elbow - also called subluxation of the radial head. It happens with minimal trauma and it's typically readily treated by the doctor pulling gently on it - takes about a minute. Xrays are usually not needed.

Dislocation of the elbow, on the other hand, take considerable force. They typically don't go back into place without quite a bit of effort on the part of the doctors - lots of xrays and pain medicine and pushing and pulling on the bones and sometimes surgery.

If it actually "popped out" as you say, then it was probably dislocated.
