The lowest point in North America would definitely be located in Death Valley, California. which is in the Northern Desert of the State.

Death Valley, in eastern CA. In fact, I think Badwater is the location at -282 ft. Since it's October, perhaps now is a good time 2 visit it, although the desert does get really cold in winter.
