I like solos to fit the song. They should carry the feeling of the melody and the lyrics. Actually, I think solos are just verses where the guitar sings. Emotion. Don't just shred through every scale you know, play from the heart.

I like mine with a lot of rythm yet speed. Like Suicidal Tendencies, Dream Theatre, Killswitch, ATR, and some Slipknot. There are of course tons of other bands with amazing guitarist but those are just a few of my favorites.

I like mine played by Frank Zappa or Joe Satriani. Those metalheads like Hammet, Wylde, Dimebag, and Mustaine are good too.

I like mine served up with 6 cups of great tone, 2 cups of chopped...well..."chops" , scattered , smothered , and covered in talent, served up hot , and lotsa meat! I'm sure quite a few guitarists would agree....
