Well for everyone obviously this answer is totally different based on the circumstances of the person. for me i know unless i go to the gym sometime that day to get out all my energy then i wont fall asleep until like 4 in the morning. also sometimes the surface you sleep on puts pressure points all over your spine, resulting in a bodily response known as waking up. If you are constantly waking up in the middle of the night obviously something is disturbing your sleep. whether it be Stress, pressure points in your mattress, you don't exert enough energy, eating things with sugars and such, or you just have a lot of stuff on your mind. Falling asleep is the easy part. just concentrate on your breathing, in and hold for 3 heart beats out and hold for 3 heart beats. eventually you concentrating on your inner self will cause you to slip into a state of meditation, or sleep. if you wake up again, keep trying the same thing but just saying the two most common sleep disorders in america are Insomnia and Sleep Apnea. you can research both and if you really think you have either then see a physician.

Avoid caffeine and other quick carbs - they'll give you temporary energy, but you'll feel worse once it's gone. Try complex carbs instead (grains) with a piece of fruit occasionally. Drink cold water and/or take a cold shower for a quick wake-up, and keep yourself busy. It's much harder to stay awake when you're bored. Last, but not least, avoid looking at things that will strain your eyes (small text, bright screens in dark rooms, etc).

Can I ask why you would want to do this? Staying awake for extended periods of time can be dangerous; I hope you're not planning to drive or supervise a child.
That said, if you're trying to stay awake and are of an appropriate age and medical condition, there are OTC drugs like NoDoz.

I am not sure why you would want to try this but the only thing I can suggest is caffeine. Leave the lights on and stay sitting up or standing. Good luck!

Why??? They make energy drinks, caffeine, no doz, but all can be dangerous, especially in combination. If you posted this correctly and this is baby related then you should get some sleep!
