are they any difference in personality traits in both of them? i've heard left-handed people are smarter but they live short

People who are right handed are ruled by the right side of the brain while those who are left handed are ruled by the left side of the brain. I don't believe that left handed people are smarter, but they are more creative. As for living short lives I believe that every one of us has a time to be born and a time to die, no matter if right or left handed.

Nobody is entirely certain. It is possible the result of prenatal trauma; in some cases such as cerebral palsy, this is true. However, this does not explain the majority of cases. Another theory is that left-handedness is the result of higher than usual level of prenatal testosterone. Others claim that there is a genetic component.
In general there are not differences in personality traits.
And your last statement is not true... except for the possible of accidents (most equipment is made for right handed people) left-handed people have the about the same life expectancy as others. Also, prior to the 1970's many left handed people were forced to use their right hands and that explains their lower representation in the older age groups.

I think it might have something to do with brain wiring. I know, being a lefty in this right handed world, that I constantly have to switch things around in my brain. The shorter life span is due to us being accident prone because most things are designed for the right handed.

Its a miss wiring of the brain thats y most people are right handed.

its got something to do with your brain if you use the right side of the brain more you will be left handed and so on

I read once that it could be caused from trauma in the womb. Also genetics is involved in some cases.
Lefties are suppose to be more creative, better lovers, and more prone to depression.
