I'm not sure why, but when I think of Michigan I think of unemployment.

I took a bus tour of Michigan last year. There is more to Michigan than Detroit. There is Frankenmuth - German town, Ste Saint Marie - where all the ships come thru the locks, Traverse City - beautiful areas, and Grand Rapids where Pres. Gerald Ford has museum. They also raise lots of cherries. Nice place to visit = just skip Detroit.

I think of camping, awful winters, the Red Wings, light houses, and lakes. Also I think of the pitiful state of the economy and where that puts me and my family. It is a really sad thought. I'm not sure that it is possible for us to get back on our feet. My husband has gotten laid off twice in the past year and now cannot find anything. I have heard the economy is not as terrible up North more. We live near Detroit. Well everyone, keep us Michiganders in your thoughts.
