hi. i'm 16 years old. i'm overweight, but to understand that you'd need to know all about something else i have called PCOS...anyway...lately i've been getting extremely painful leg cramps in all parts of my leg (my foot, calf, side of my leg, and inner thighs) and frequently too (several times a night). what's causing this?? i havent started taking any medications, my diet hasn't changed, i haven't gained any weight, my daily routine is exactly the same as its always been. it's really freaking me out.

Besides dehydration or too much booze or too much caffeine it could also be a deficiency of potassium, calcium, magnesium or vitamin B6.

Leg cramps are a sign of extremely low calcium levels. I'd recommend taking calcium citrate, as it would be more absorptive. It may be just because you're 16, and your body is consuming more nutrients just now. Potassium can also help. Try drinking gatorade or eating bananas. If none of that helps, definitely talk to a doctor.

Do you have an annual physical? If so, then you probably have a regular doctor, who may be able to help you over the phone. Water and lack of potassium (yep, bananas) are the usual culprits. Have a banana every single day, and get your 8 glasses of H2O.

drink plenty of water before doing to bed..seems like dehydration . and check ur blood sugar levels one empty stomack and one pp....

that happened to me and wat ive been told to do is eat potassium; aka bananas.
