Look no further than the ACLU
The Anti-Constitution Lawyers Union.
Also known as the Anti-Christian Lawyers Union.
Our Founding Fathers rejected making themselves Kings and set up a LIMITED Government, a Representative Republic with democratically elected Representatives.
They kept the POWER in the hands of the citizens.
Almost immediately, crooked self- interested lawyers and politicians started to chip away at the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, gradually but steadily shifting power from the citizen to a the Federal Government.
Money is power and the higher your taxes are, the more of your power they can shift from you to them.
Your other rights are power also. They are listed in the Bill of Rights.
Your freedom of Speech is limited. Freedom of religion, the right to bear arms.....
Anyone who reduces your power and wants to raise your taxes is a potential TYRANT.
Never vote for them.
You are witnessing that shift.
Blame the voter who wants "free" hand-outs. It requires higher taxes and bigger government to get them.

It still exists: It always has. I have to smile when people lament the passing of America or the way of life of a generation. Every generation tends to look back at previous ones as a simpler more wholesome time.

But never fear America is still there and still strong. She is there in every solider in the field. She is there in the love and admiration that both the left and the right have for the men and women in uniform. She is there on a sunny day when a little league umpire yells PLAY BALL and she is there in the lights of Broadway and the gleam of the golden gate bridge. America is there at the fireworks over Disneyland and the campfires of the Grand Canyon.

Our parents knew an America where neighbor helped neighbor, and we do to, just ask the people of New Orleans where the bulk of their help came from, not the government, but their neighbors. Neighbors from as far away as Oregon and Maine but neighbors none the less

Our parents knew an America where old men cried at the Star Spangled Banner and this increasingly old Man still does.

Our parents knew an American where fathers and son fought with each other over the Vietnam conflict and cried with each other when one they knew did not come home. And we know the same for all thoughts of right and wrong in Iraq are put aside when a flag covered coffin comes home.

America is just fine, our parents and our grandparents may not recognize the internet, or Brittany or Reality TV but they would know the smell of a hot dog on a grill and the crack of ball against a bat.

I watched Ken Burns "The War" the other day and remember watching his "Civil War" with my Dad a long time ago. And I smiled to remember that My Dad and his buddies saved the world. And if called upon to do so again I have no doubt that my son and his buddies would do the same

Our parents America is still right there

The decay of integrity. How many people know what integrity is and do they actually have integrity?

Edit:

"It's gone as is the America of your Grandparents and their parents before them, this has always been a country in transition towards the future and this is one of it's strengths, so while you lament what was and can never be again the rest of us shall move forward as our fore bearers did this country was always about growth, change, transition, and a new future anyone who doesn't embrace this well can you really say that you're an American I wonder"

A transition towards the future without integrity? To not shed myself of integrity means I'm not an American? If the constitution is ditched in this new vision of America, to not comply means I'm not an American?

And who says there is no integrity YOU? Just because the "pop culture" presents an image doesn't make it so, and integrity was never in as large a supply as you might imagine, that's a fantasy, but if you look there is integrity everywhere in this country, there are craftsman who take pride in their work, friends who stand with one another, people who hold to their belief es, and a myriad of others and other places it can be found, I think your choice is to not look for it, Did Joe McCarthy have integrity? Nixon? J Edgar Hoover? and so many more historical figures, then again there are so many more who showed use true integrity, integrity must be sought out it is not so cheap commodity

We don't have to flee picnics at public parks because the rednecks didn't like that the black kids were playing on the swings and were going after their parents with baseball bats.

Girls don't have to watch the scholarship be given to the boy they beat because the contest wasn't for girls anyway.

Parents who fail to feed and clothe or bruise or break the bones of their kids get arrested now.

And I don't miss those times a bit.

I think that part of America belongs to Mexico now. Sorry : (
Hispanics may not be afraid of their 'heritage' anymore but they sure are afraid to hang around the home country and make a living there huh. LOL

The liberals have destroyed it with their "Cult of Multiculturalism," and political correctness. Hollywood and most of the news media are controlled by greedy bastards and left wing America-haters and they have brainwashed our young people to hate their own country. Thank God for private schools or this country would be finished!

The Baby Boomers turned left, got hooked on drugs, slept around, rejected those traditions that made everything better, and became the most selfish and foolish generation ever... and there went everything decent and moral
