There are three common types of jerseys
Replica: its the image of the real players jersey, but not what they wear in the NFL. its letters is made of material that melts in the dryer and is mesh. goes for maybe $75
Replithentic: it has numbers stiched on but other details are either mesh or not like the real thing. yet again, its only the image of what players wear. goes for $100 or so
Authentic: the real deal, stiched numbers and details, such as the sleve logo. its the ones that players wear, but when u buy it its usually not preworn. it can be preworn or autographed though. starts at maybe $150, but preworn or autographed ive seen in the thousands
all three are made by rebook, the officail sponser, so theres no brand change between them

Replica jerseys have screen-printed letters and numbers. Authentics that they wear on the field feature sewn on applications along with letters and numbers and retail from $250-$300. The Replithentic jerseys are a cross between a Replica and an Authentic and they retail for $89-$99. They are not as high-quality as the Authentic jerseys worn on the field but it does feature sewn on letters and numbers.

Replica jerseys are made for sale to the public on ordinary fabrics that look about right.
NFL jerseys are made to withstand the rigors of the game and are fitted over the armored protection they wear, so they come in huge and bigger and depending on when you get them more or less stinky and stained.

Authentic is just what it means...authentic. Replicas are not the real thing. If you plan on buying it for yourself just to have, then a replica is fine. People buy authentic because they may be collectors & decide to sell it later in life for a profit.

The difference is if NFL is paying Nike to make "Official" NFL jerseys their brand is "Authentic" because they are officially licensed by the NFL corporation and other companies who make the same type of jerseys don't have the right to call their clothes "Authentic" because they don't have that seal therefore consider their jerseys "replica." Get it?

An authentic jersey is made by a brand that is licensed to make the jerseys that the pros wear. Replicas are by any other brand.

The authentic jerseys are constructed of toughter, stain more resistant fabrics to withstand use by a real fooball player.
The fabrics cost more to the manufacturer, that is why the price is much higher.
