If telling the truth is just to unburden yourself and hurting someone else in the process then yes, you will feel awful. But not telling means you are living a lie. It is a difficult choice to make.
I was in a situation that needed to be changed, but I did not tell the whole truth because of the pain it would cause. I went about changing the situation with the underlying reasons, not the fact of what I did, but rather the why of the actions.
I hope it settles down for you and is a catalyst for change.

Because of the pure simple truth..Been there and you do feel like hell after wards. You didnt like what you said cause it hurt but you did anyway. The truth may of not set good in another persons eyes but you just said it. Hince the truth. ..That's it in a nut shell Meeka.

The truth is a tricky thing. If you say something to a parent about anything they hold it over your head forever. If you go to someone about a friend because your worried about them then they don't want to be your friend anymore.
Just know you did the right thing and those involved will have to come to grips with it.
I'm sorry you feel icky.
