I love unique names so I think it's adorable.... I like that you want to name her after her grandpa, that's so cool. I'm sure he would be honored to have his granddaughter named after him. It has a special meaning to you so by all means go for it. Congrats on your new baby daughter, I wish you all the best...

No way... even if it was a standard basic boy name that everyone would recognize as a boy name, i think it would be okay because that is starting to be a little more common (plus a lot of names that used to just be one gender are now the other, or neutral)
I don't think anyone would recognize that as only a boys name and I think it is a good name for a girl.

I dont think its to boyish. Since its going to be the middle name not everyone will hear it either and it means something to you sicne it was your fathers middle name. sinceit has teh Kayah in it thats very feminine and lanee spelt that way or lani is girly too.
at babynamesworld.com Kealani is unisex gender so its not just a boys name either.
well i hope this helps
best of luck and congrats!

I think it will be fine. To be honest the name totally works as a girl's name. I was so scared you were going to say your dad's name was robert or allen or timothy. That would be AWFUl. But Kealani is BEAUTIFUL.
I'm sorry for the loss of your dad. Congrats on the baby! She's going to have a beautiful middle name!

I don't think it's too boyish. It has a great meaning and it's even more meaningful after the fact that it's going to be given to honor your father. Kealani sounds very nice ;o)

Aw, I think it's a beautiful name! I say go with it. Then again, I'm English and that's not an English name so...yeah. I don't know for sure, but it doesn't sound boyish at all to me.

I was names after my fathers grandfather Charles, but I got Charli. As well as that I got my dads middle name, plus a couple more. I think the name is awesome. I don't find it too manly at all.
I hope you use it.

If your husband has no other objection then his opinion that it sounds boyish ..Then I think it is a lovely choice anda nice tribute to the memory of your dad

Kealani doesn't strike me as boyish at all! It seems like a nice way to honor your father.
And since it is her *middle* name, there's no reason to worry too much about gender issues. As long as her first name is obviously female, you should be fine.

Without knowing the traditions you and he are coming from, I think it is a lovely name and in the USA would be taken as much more girlish than boyish - possibly Hawaiian as a guess.
