It's possible ,but you have to be committed to it. You know expect some hardships with your new life. You can't turn around. This is a good approach if you're up to it.

Yep! Have done it with two kids in two and an abusive ex with private detectives and electronic equipment on his side. But you have to be ready not to contact anyone from your past. No family, no friends, no one. Cannot use references for jobs, or have utilities in your name. Be sure you are ready to do all that before you make ready. best to leave in the early morning before daylight with all the cash you can gather. Do not tell anyone of your plans. I did not even tell the kids until I carried them to the car in their pj's.

we have in this country a program called WITNESS PROTECTION, where someone who is in great danger of harm for testifying against a known crime figure, simply "disappears", and starts over somewhere else with a new name, identity, etc etc. Such a person literally DISAPPEARS.

you could move to a different country. get a new job change your name and do the things you have always wanted to do

I think you can, as long as you don't make any reference to your previous life, job, home, friends, anything! You're right, it's difficult to escape the past.... your past is what makes you YOU.
