The people who have been saying that Ron Paul has no chance have been wrong about him all along. They said he would drop out early, that he would not win debate polls, that he would not win straw polls after the Iowa poll, and the most recent is that he would not raise first-tier money.

It is very obvious why he has all this support, he is honest, has principles(swears to uphold the Bill of Rights fully), and he is so intelligent that when you listen to him give a speech it is like he is a professor giving a lecture at a major university. I don't consider candidates like that to be underdogs at all. It's just a matter of time before he gets them in the end.

Tmess2 , would you give up your favorite government program if it meant you never had to pay incomes taxes again?

Disneyland Fan, he won the debate polls. He has the most individual donors of any Republican candidate to his $5, 000,000 total.

Calling the polls you mentioned scientific is laughable because the polls are never peer-reviewed. The

When Ron Paul finished 5th in the straw polls, RP haters have said that this proves the polls were right and when RP started winning polls they RP haters waved it off and said "it doesn't mean anything."

RP haters have no credibility at all. Everything they said has been bullshit all along.

Sorry, I have heard him give a speech on several different occassions dating back to the 1980s. I also have several friends who are hard-core Republicans. What Ron Paul stands for is not what most Republicans stand for.

Bottom-line, the Republican nomination will be decided by people who are Republicans. These people support the war in Iraq. An anti-war candidate will not be the Republican nominee.

While he now has one good quarter of raising money, he still has only a fraction of what is needed to compete in February. The so-called front tier candidates have raised that type of money for three straight quarters. They are also polling in excess of 10% in scientific polls, Representative Paul is polling less than 5% in those same polls. Bottom line is that Governor Romney can write a personal check (and already has done so on two occassions) larger than the total that Representative Paul has raised. Even with his ability to raise money, Governor Romney is struggling to stay in the first-tier. When Ron Paul has the ability to spend $20 million in 20 states on February 4th, then ask us if he has a chance. Until then, I don't think he can compete.

Ron Paul has a good chance of winning the general election, but I don't think he'll win the primaries. Why you ask? I think that most Republicans support the war effort and still haven't abandoned ship with Pres Bush. Ron Paul wants the troops home now. Unless Ron Paul teams up with Unity 08, I don't think he'll win. I've been supporting Unity 08 and Ron Paul for a while now and I think the ticket of Ron Paul (President) and Barrack Obama (Vice President) would make an excellent Unity 08 ticket! It's time America to get over the 2 party system! This time vote for who YOU want to be President! Don't listen to the lying TV media! We are all depending on each other this time. Do the right thing!

The Ron Paul naysayers have had to eat crow time and again. The fact is that he has won more straw polls and debate polls than any other Republican candidate. The fact is that he raised over $5 million in the third quarter and now has $5.3 million cash on hand. His momentum is growing by leaps and bounds.

We shouldn't. It's still almost three months before the first primaries, anything can happen. It seems his support and name recognition is increasing. To say that he has no chance at this stage in the race is pure laziness. Ron Paul's message resonates with real conservatives who believe in fighting wars out of defense of the nation rather than to police the world. Ron Paul is also the only candidate who would do everything he could (there is a limit to Presidential powers) to lower spending and taxes. He also wants a return of our individual freedoms, which the Bush-Clinton-Bush regime has chipped away at for 16 years. If you want the government to tell you how to live, then vote for Hillary or Rudy. If you want to be in charge of your life, then you should seriously consider voting for Ron Paul.

The facts state that Ron Paul is a top tier candidate that is gaining momentum. But i can see that there are still a few detractors in denial of the facts, probably pounding there desks and cursing those 5 Internet spammers who are causing all this trouble! lol

I really don't care that he keeps going. That's up to him. However, get a grip on reality! I care about is all the crap the Paul supporters are dishing out, claim things that are not true and are totally based on opinions, not FACTS! For example:

1) Straw polls mean nothing. A candidate can win them, or come in 5th in Iowa, and it doesn't matter.
2) "Winning" a debates are a matter of opinion, not fact.
3) When a candidate consistently has 3% or lower in national polls, he has NO CHANCE of winning the nomination. Currently he's at about 1%. That is NOT A LOT OF SUPPORT!
4) There is no monentum since he STILL has only 1% of the vote. Infact, since there is so little support, if he ran as a 3rd party, it would be meaningless since he doesn't appeal to true Republicans and he sure doesn't appeal to the leftists and the moderates.

It bothers me when Paul supporters claim that Paul is "our only hope to beat Hillary." That is a flat out LIE!

I think Dr. Ron Paul could still win. He will need some attention quick.

Republicans stuck to the idea that we need to keep our soldiers doing POLICE work, handing out lolly pops to kids, need to get a grip on reality.

Soldiers are to FIGHT A WAR, not CONDUCT POLICE WORK. Once people come to grips with that, and realise we have not been able to take off the handcufs to fight this war properly, and we will not be able to, they will realise the only way to go is home. Arm the iraqis and leave. They can ALL behead eachother for all I care!

And republicans who think doing police work in iraq makes us more safe than PROTECTING OUR BORDER are useless to the security of america.

Real republicans realise the Constitution , our BORDERS, and our Country are more important than loyalty to a misguided war!

We shouldn't. He is different from the candidates in that his stands come from non-conflicating abstract principles, not the range-of-the-moments concretes that spew from candidates like Hillary and Guiliani. To understand him requires the intelligence to think beyond concretes and see the concrete manifestation of abstract principles.

I like his stand on issues and believe that if he is president, we'll be better off.

The reason I like Ron Paul is that he tells it like it is. He doesn't give the "politician speech" to you (telling like you want to here it). I hate speeches like "we have the highest standard of living" or "this country is the best of the world" or "our economic is doing well". All of those are bulls when the country is loosing jobs to the Chinese, fighting illegal wars, stick our nose too much in foreign policies.

The most important thing for me is his believe in small government and protection of the Constitution. If you like bureaucracies and big government, vote for someone else. I should warn you, believes such as, national health care, $5000 baby bonds, etc. will turn this country to socialism (WTF communism!).

Right now we are "frogs in the pot". Keep staying in there and we won't be able to jump out of it.

UPDATE

I think there are too people who can't see beyond their lifetime! Heck...you don't care much beyond your lifetime. SAD!
