cloves are good to eliminate bad breath... try chewing fennel or dill or anise seeds... anise tastes like liquorice. Apparently sucking a cinnamon stick can work too... i know its not mints but will ultimately have the same effect. Someone has already mentioned this but try eating mint leaves... i personally love the taste and rarely chew chewing gum. I hope not to have offended you as i am in no way implying you suffer from bad breath just you want the same desired effect from mints (obv without the aspartim... good choice that stufff is worse than sugar!)

Any of the ones you mentioned. In fact if I was going out on a new date, I would feed her aniseed balls all evening.

If you have one handy, try an apple! It brushes your teeth and sweetens your breath. Also chewing fresh parsley will freshen breath- so save those pretty garnishes on your dinner plate for a trip to the bathroom and chew em up!
Peppermint candies, licorice will smell nice but sticks to your teeth, spearmint leaves(the candy), but any effort at sweeter breath is welcome and appreciated for that first smooch!

my lip gloss from Bath & Body works. It has peppermint oil, so if you lick your lips after you put it on, the oil freshens your breath.
