the dems have already passed a bill to end the war in an organized withdraw...
WE ALL KNOW you would love for the dems to just cut spending so we would have to run out of Iraq in a disorganized manner and God knows what would happen though...
but I think a dem president would remove the majority of the fighting forces in an ORGANIZED MANNER over a year or so ... and leave behind a small force to deal with terrorists forces in the nation... which really mainly would be "ending the war"
we had troops in Germany for years after WWII... but the war was over...
and this is basically what they are saying?

I doubt the war would suddenly just end but rather you'd see a phase out of troops and gradually bring them home. Most people now believe that the War in Iraq was needless and pointless. We just toppled Sadam...but may replace him with what???There was no plan in place to leave Iraq nor to rebuild it. A new president..especially if a Democrat...would most likely have a timetable to leave and disengage.I'd guess within a year of a Democrat taking office that we'd be out of Iraq. One thing does puzzle me though. In both Gulf Wars...this one and in Desert Storm we used national Guard troops and NOT the regular Army???WHY??

No, I wish the idiot we have in their would end it, but he has to save face, so more Americans will die, and we'll hear more lies. I could of supported this war if it wasn't the lies that got us here. Bush and team Cheney planned this with the "think tanks". If it wasn't corrupt Colon Powell would still be there.

We will know for sure in 2008.
Until then, the democrats have talked a good game, but they have failed to actually DO anything. I strongly suspect that, in spite of all of their rhetoric, they, too, know that it is simply a very bad idea to hand the Islamic militants a victory in Iraq.
Ben Franklin said it best:
"Well done is much better than well said."

Given the "stellar" job cons have done, I'd prefer an atheist liberal to another religious fanatic conservative.

why wouldn't they. Bush set the bar so low in handling this war, that there is no way they can fail.
