Yes, Clearly a side who play together wins together. Look at arsenal, man u, man city who have made few changes apart from injuries.

He's certainly getting the stick right now but a Spanish league, uefa cup, champions league and fa cup in four years with teams of much less value than United or Chelsea doesn't support the critics opinions. Every premier managers style has pros and cons. I agree that Torres should play any game of importance as his talents should not be wasted to lesser players like Crouch; I hope he learns from this. I think however that Benitez's philosophy is based around teamwork and interdependence to such a degree, he feels he can get away with it. I think he could be right, and a couple of poor results wont yet change my mind.

For any master strategists out there, game theory is a science interested in making the optimum decision based on your opponents previous decisions and presumed rationality. Probably all modern premiership managers utilise this to some extent, Arsene Wenger for example studied it in University. It uses mathematics and logic to sometimes preempt your opponent and devise counter-manouvres. When applied to soccer unpredictability can be useful. Some manager for example may field a tall and slow centre back if he thinks Crouch is playing and a shorter and faster one if Torres is odds on to play. I think Benetez often tries to second guess other managers before the game and his team choice may seem odd and unexplainable.. But you never hear about it twice when it works.

i asked a question about a week ago about benitez rotation system and said i found it negative and most fans thought it was good, im guessing thats because Liverpool were winning at the time...now after poor performances and bad results, people are moaning about this "system", I cant understand why he'd have to rest young players..footballers played 40 odd games years ago, so i dont get all this resting that players need week in week out, its nuts, theyre fit, theyre willing to play and instead of giving them a break every other game why doesnt he give them a weeks long break when they really need it

with a potential 60 or so games a season for a team who is successful you just cant play the same 11 every game or they will run out of steam. its a bit to early to say at this time in the season but i think you will see the benefits around Easter time if Liverpool a still at the business end of the league table by then.

Don't fall for all this crap, he is right, the days of playing the same first 11 are long over, and it's just Luddite from the 70's and 80's who are moaning about this.

Liverpool always have a bad patch, and as it is, this years bad patch hasn't been that bad.

I think come May there are going to be a few people with very little to say.

liverpool should give up crouch. The kid is a child cause he never plays. liverpool doesnt need his attitude. Anyways i kinda satisified with the results from liverpool but the deafeat by marsielle like cmon MOMO sissoko gave up the ball 7 times in a row and rafa still played him. Also rafa played LETO what is rafa thinking ?

the team train together and get to know each other pretty wel off the field too so starting the same eleven only serves to give the opposition an easy read on us.the unpredictability of his team selection will not be our undoing this year but the selection of crap like sissoko and aurelio will not help us

Crop rotation works as long as you have a fallow field. Benitez's problem is that he keeps picking the fallow field.

Not a Liverpool fan, but you'd be able to make a better judgement at the end of the season.
I think he is over-using it.
