I am at the moment rooting for Ron Paul because I support his immigration issues completely. I think it is a good idea to not give citizenship to just any baby born in the US. No other country does that, why do we? Basically all the issues he is for, I agree with him on. The one thing I am not completely sold on is pulling out of Iraq so dramatically. I dont know what kind of consequences that will have in the region and some say that could create even more terrorist because they will be able to take control of the area. But at the same time, I think his whole "isolation" stance is a good idea for us right now. The world hates us, so lets leave the world alone and then when they need us, they will really value and appreciate what we can do to help them.
I like how he quoted Reagan during the time he sent troops into Lebanon, saying that Reagan said he would not leave without winning, but ended up pulling out after so many soldiers were killed, because he realized that in the Middle East, the wars there are not based on rational logic so why are we in it? That made me think that maybe it is a good idea to just leave Iraq.

I support Ron Paul, he has been consistent for 20 years. Never flip flopping, nor contradicting himself, and no lobbying or special interest dollars, no other presidential candidate can say the same.
I agree that the war and taxes are big issues that get my attention, but the very idea, that someone has stuck to their guns for 20 years is the most impressive. America has lacked a politician who has been true to there word, and I believe we have found a guy that we can rally behind, and take our country back.
I am not a republican, but I do not believe in voting down party lines. Honestly, the Dems have not given a candidate worth a vote. Voting dem, just because I am registered Democrat, makes no sense, so I am going to go with who I feel is the best candidate, and not get trapped in the political ideology box.
Ron Paul for President in 2008!!

Ron Paul. If you research it he is the most conservative canidate. True conservatives are all about small government, low taxes, spending as little as possible and the most important, the constitution. Like many have already said, Ron Paul has never flip-flopped.
Staying in the party is not really important to me because Ron Paul is a Libertarian, not a Republican. I still wouldn't vote Democrat.
Anyway, I support Ron Paul 100% and am confident that he is the best thing for America.

Very difficult question. Most candidates promise many things and deliver few. I'm pretty conservative but also realistic and know big campaign coffers help win elections.
If I thought a candidate had a chance with very conservative views, I would vote for him or her. Problem is, every candidate that has the money to win, sits on the fence or is evasive about what they would do.
I agree with you wanting a conservative especially if he could accomplish what he says he would do.Things can and do change after they are in office. All candidates become beholding to those that "bought them" the vote.
At least in this election, I would have to go with Giuliani or Thompson and neither would be my first pick but reality of who even has a chance is a big factor.
I doubt I would ever agree to all things any candidate says but I am looking at it this way: A vote for someone that cant spend money to win, is a vote for the opposition.
I wish I could be more specific but the long haul is still ahead

I support Mitt Romney for president, because he seems to have the least negative qualities out of the top Republican hopefuls. Giuliani is a social liberal. McCain hasn't done anything to stop illegal immigration. And I don't know enough about Fred Thompson. Romney seems to be the most conservative out of the top Republican candidates. But I will vote for whoever the Republican candidate for president is. Because I know that the Democrat's are going to pick Hillary Clinton as their candidate. And I don't want to see her become president of the United States.

Very important and difficult to answer to;
i am a democrat, so all the republicans are out of the question.
It's mainly between Obama and Hillary. I am stuck between both because both of them offer something that we all can benefit from.
Yes, it is important that neither of them is the usual white-male type...Hillary will show leadership of women in this world, and Obama shows the leadership of African Americans....
But none of that is imporant. What is important is the fact that we need a change in this country, a real booster of economy.
Clinton will help that; we might also get a universal health care program like she proposed a few years before, but failed. Obama is also a very open-minded candidate and I love that about him...
So again does not matter who wins, as long as they do what is best for this country.

I support Ron Paul. Why? Principle. As for helping the poor? They are the biggest reason why i support the man. "To help those who can't or do not know how to help themselves." After this election however, they will. Prosperity will flourish. Keep in mind still that we "MUST focus ALOT of our attention on the US House of Representatives in this coming up election. They are the direct line to the "people". That and they have the "SOLE POWER" to impeach.
Ret sgt: Nice to see you ring in on this one chief. ;)
