Hard.........solid body (like electrics) are easier for me to play...but semi-hollow (like acoustics) have a cooler sound in my opinion.

I think i'll go with semi-hollow for now.

It depends on what kind of sound you want to get out of it. Look up Brian Setzer video's.(Stray Cats) Try and find one that has just him playing so you can hear the guitar. He plays a semi-hollow but he likes a few affects like slap-back. He's cool!
But even solid body guitars vary in sound greatly depending if they are Strat style, Teli, Les Paul/Gibson, or the thrash sound like Ibanez. Back to players (sorry my ADD in high gear) Also look for John Lowery songs. That guy is way under rated or just not recognized at all. He should be up there with Hendrix, Clapton, Stevie Ray, Jeff Beck, Malmseen, Les Paul himself. Now John Lowery (John5) plays a Fender Telicaster, but what with the amp head and stack he uses he gets very nice tone out of it. His solo disk has some turbo charged, almost country sound. Find "Gein With Envy" if you have a music down-loader. Even if you don't like country like me you will appreciate those type of songs he plays. He's unbelievable. Look at Les Paul videos also, especially if it has an interview with him, he's a very leading edge kinda guy on playing style and with inventions. He was doing hammer on and pull off 70 years ago. YA THAT'S RIGHT! ok...
I'm sorry I prob didn't answer... OK I like the sound my solid body Les Paul the best. I have a few fenders with different pickup configurations and misc other guitars but that Paul has awesome tone. I think cause it's such a hunk of wood. Now the Fender Strat, to me anyway, is more fun to play I think because of the bridge is closer to the body unlike the Gibson/Paul style, mostly due to the fact that I'm not that good a player (not yet) and it's comfortable to me, even the way it feels when you hold it. What do you think about the two of em?
thanks, I enjoyed that

I prefer a solid body, myself. My personal favourite is my 1973 Fender Telecaster, in ash. It's fairly light as solid bodies go. With a warm sound.

I love acoustics, but my favorite guitar right now is my Fender Stratocaster, it's got the sunburst finish on it. It's gorgeous.
