Then why haven't they delivered on their promise to pull us out of Iraq already?
After all, that was their biggest platform they ran on during the elections.
Could it be that they were just saying what people want to hear just to get elected?

Too bad you know nothing about me Condor, so your attempt at insulting my by calling me a NEOCON has no effect.
Here's a hint that hopefully you'll remember...if you're going to try to insult someone, you should know something about them.
Have a nice day. :D

Yes, the Democrats lied to get elected. They do not have the guts to withhold funding from the military.

No actually it is because the Republican party knows full well that Iraq was a mistake that is going to end up looking like another Vietnam. The Republicans like always do not want to take any accountability so they are hoping the Dem's save them by cutting funding. If the Dem's do this it will give the Republicans a scape goat and they could say they would have been successful if it was not for being financially undercut by the Dem's. This is the same strategy they always use they spend vastly greater money on war then the Dem's ever could have even if they were giving away health care to everyone but then they spin the facts to make it appear the Dem's are the ones over spending. The Republican base is so brain washed because of their religious idealism regarding anti gay, anti abortion and so on that it really does not matter how corrupt Republican leaders are they will still support them. That's what idealistic fanatics do and it's not only the terrorist that true American patriots have to defend this country against. The Republican party is now a party of greed corruption and deceit.

Because there promise wasn't exactly to remove US troops from Iraq see, you have to read between the lines. I know, what they said sounded simple enough but they were actually saying is, give us the majority, and then, we'll look for another reason for you to vote for us again in the next election.
Check out what even Dem candidates, Even Clinton, are saying about what they will do regarding the war if elected...Nothing! They got what they want and now they are changing directions, trying a new approach because running on the war ticket will not get them re-elected they are going on the WELFARE INSURANCE reform this time. So, if you aren't mad enough about the war issue to vote dem again, you have to be mad enough about not having free health care to vote dem! Haha, slick willie is behind the scenes pulling strings ; )

They will not have the majority long.
They have the lowest approval rating in Congressional history.
People have wised up to what their true agenda is... so give them not another thought.
When the Democrats throw out the Radical Liberal Left that is the leadership right now, they'll be worth considering as candidates again. Right now, they're not.
I wonder when they'll try ramming amnesty bills down our throats again?

To Planksheer: All they have to do is not fund the war...Period.
They don't want any blame for a premature Iraq pullout until after they get Queen Hillary elected. That's why they don't defund the war. Plus they are liberals and they will always do and say whatever they think will best get them elected! Party always comes before country for the libs. How sad!

a two thirds majority of Americans want the war ended, troops home in as short a time as is possible...so the congress is NOT saying what the people wanna hear....even without a Dem majority, the people are speaking loud and clear...the whole congress sucks...they have the power of the purse...they could stop all funding but what it takes to get the troops out safely, but they don't do it.....there's another force at work here, somehow, and we don't know what it is......
BRYAN - when the Republicans throw out the radical right, they'll be worth considering, again, but now.....the polls show people are discontented with Congress....maybe it's the Repubs that causes the discontent with...

Be realistic. Bush and the GOP have enough power to block any Democratic attempt to influence the world. Bush is in a strong position - he can do what he wants, he doesn't need to worry about re-election, the GOP can stop any veto override votes. It isn't because of anything Bush has done - it's just the politics of numbers.

Just because they have control of congress doesn't mean they can just up and pull out of Iraq. They don't have that much power. Bush and his henchmen will stop them at every turn.

Where have you been the last 9 months? They tried several times to negotiate with Dubya about getting our troops out of Iraq but, like he always he like to veto everything that democrats come up with.
