I can't. I do figure that I can raise my odds by doing certain things that I do have control over. I also give myself permission to change my mind and go in a different direction midstream.
I also just try to point myself in a direction and then enjoy the journey.

You can't guarantee that anything will go right in the future.
Whether you know what other peoples actions will be or not. You still have no guarantee.

You cant predict the future, so there's no guarantee that things will go right in the future, even if you have the most perfect plan, there are still chances that it will be ruined.
What you have to do is to prepare for the worst.

Depends on what kind of person you are.
If you're the sorta person who defines 'right' to mean that you will succesfully deal with whatever lifes throws at you then yes, I think you can guarantee that things will go right. And, if you are such a person, then other peoples actions don't really matter all that much, do they?

Nothing in life is a guarantee. Even the best laid plans can and will fall apart. People have free will.

Just ignore other peoples actions when when you are chasing your goal. It's not easy, but it's the only way.

You can't. All you can do is give it your best guess based on other peoples historical reactions.
