is that song about the devil, or about a human being

I've always thought that the song was about being in a band always on the road and giving up their home life, and stable relationships, for the business(i.e. devil).

Anyone ever see BOC in the 70's/80's when they would play the Old Waldorf in SF as Soft White Underbelly? Damn they were great in that small setting!

it could have some satanic sounding lyrics, however the contributors of the band do not inevitably have faith in what they write. maximum bands who make references to the devil in those procedures do it regularly for the exposure. Slayer is a huge occasion of this. maximum of Slayer's lyrics quickly attack Chritsianity. The lead singer (and music author strategies you) is Catholic. whilst puzzled approximately why he chosen the identify "God Hates Us All" for between the bands songs and if he incredibly believed that god hated each and every person, he replied "God does not hate, it incredibly is a huge f***ing identify. The interview with Slayer's singer is a component of a documentary. you will locate it one YouTube. identify of the action picture is in the source.

Home in the valley
Home in the city
Home isn't pretty
Ain't no home for me

Home in the darkness
Home on the highway
Home isn't my way
Home will never be

Burn out the day
Burn out the night
I can't see no reason to put up a fight
I'm living for giving the devil his due

And I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you
I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you

Time is the essence
Time is the season
Time ain't no reason
Got no time to slow

Time everlasting
Time to play besides
Time ain't on my side
Time I'll never know

Burn out the day
Burn out the night
I'm not the one to tell you what's wrong or what's right
I've seen signs of what (freezing their eyes) went through

Well I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you
I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you

Burn out the day
Burn out the night
I can't see no reason to put up a fight
I'm living for giving the devil his due

And I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you

He is singing about his life and how he chooses to live it.

Is there any difference? Could that be your answer?

Rock lyrics are usually intentionally vague leaving you to connect the dots and find your own meaning.
