I've always been terrified of roller coasters, but then one time all my friends were going on the Raptor ( at Cedar Point) and I was the only not going. So not wanting to stand all alone I decided to go. I ended up loving it. Something that works for me is the first time i go on a roller coaster is close my eyes. It doesn't let me see how high off the floor i am and it doesnt let you be scared of what is coming. Then I end up loving the feeling of the ride and then i can go on with my eyes open

awww i had the same problem because in my mind i thought i was going to fall out the seat or die...

but how i got over it is that, i asked myself "what are the chances i can die on this ride?" and "has anyone ever died on this ride?", and when i thought about it, i couldnt think of anytime i heard anyone dying on the ride, and i learned the parks REALLY check the roller coasters before they open up, every day, 5 or more times... but maybe im just optimistic, but i kno the chances of me getting hurt on the ride is too slim for be to worry

but if that doesnt help, then u should tell ur friends u dnt feel like getting on the ride and ud rather get on something like a water ride or go to one of the shows

p.s. the mummy is GREAT

The obvious answer would be to go on the ones that especially scare you in hopes you will lose your fear of them. However, what I think is that you should try to go on the ones you can handle and don't worry about the rougher ones. Not everybody likes every type of roller coaster. My daughter is terrified of them but she loves the Matterhorn at Disneyland. Because of that, I don't try to push her into going on ones that really scare her but allow her to choose which ones she feels she can handle. By the way, I'll go on any type of roller coaster but I hate those that spin or throw me around a lot.

I hadn't gotten on a coaster in years, but when I met my hubby, he loved them so I just started going on them again and now I love them! Start out on small ones that don't go upside down and all that and that should help you out. But the loops are the best part! You'll get there someday!
