I know a lot of people that think they are between top 10-20 but although they were really big in the South and the NWA promotion they never really were able to make it any where else. Partially due to their size and the fact that other wrestlers just kept getting bigger and bigger.
Some tag teams like Road Warriors, Steiner Bros, Dudley Boys, Nasty Boys were able to make it anywhere they went. And others were able to overcome their lack of size due to great ariel manuevers and agility like the Midnight Rockers but the Rock and Roll Express though they were dominant for a while doesn't measure up to so many of these other teams.
The highest I could rate them is perhaps a top 30-35 tag team.

I think they rate very high. Their matches with the Midnight Express are still some of my favorites.

I'd put them in 3rd place, behind the Steiners and the Road Warriors.
