How did girls dress in the 50's and 90's?
In two weeks, it's my daughter's homecoming week, and on Tuesday it's a 50's theme and Thursday is 90's theme. How did teenage girls dress like in those decades? Could girls wear pants in the 50's? I know I'm suppose to know how they dressed in the 90's, but well I'm now really the kind of person to remember this kind of stuff. So please help me and my daughter with this. Thanks, Leila

In the50s girls wore wide skirts just below the knee. Some of the dresses had poodles sewed on the front. The blouse was loose fitting, and buttoned up to the neck. Penny loafers finished the ensemble, along with ankle socks. I hope this helps.

Girls in the 50's wore poodle skirts and a blouse. Hair in a pony tail tied with a scarf and saddle shoes. Girls in the 90;s wore tight jeans, t shirt with the arms rolled up a bit, slouch socks and high top sneakers.

ln the 50's we wore the famous "poodle skirts" (l didn't have one). skirts came down to almost the top of our socks. We wore loafers and white socks or flats and stockings. White button down shirts, full skirts with crinoline slips underneath,(summer) or pencil thin skirts, (wool, winter) sweaters, (high school sweater were a must). Out of school we wore jeans with the cuffs rolled up a few times. l went to high school in Philadelphia and l'm amazed l remember this much. Have a great time. (don't know 'bout the 90's)

In the 50s (my mom says) girls wern't allowed to wear pants to school, but out of school they could wear peddle pushers. they also wore penny loafer shoes, and pullover sweaters with scarfs either around their necks or in their ponytails.
In the 90s, your looking at BIG Hair, stretch pants, or poka dot mini skirts & middriff shirts, like cheffan . oh and pumps
good luck

i think pants were out by at least the 40's...so yeah, pants are okay. for an idea of 50's style...watch Grease....that takes place in the 50's.
as for the 90's...i know bright colors were in as were oversized clothes.
hope i helped.

in the 90s, i'd wear a flannel plaid shirt with some torn jeans. or just a brightly colored t shirt with any sort of pants and the shirt must be tucked in baggy-ish. any bright color mixed together
